HALTON beat yet another Yorkshire outfit to progress to the semi finals of the X-Blades BARLA National Cup – but at a cost.
A growing injury list meant Hornets had just 13 players, and that was reduced to 12 men after eight minutes when Alex Clare left the field with a fractured ankle.
With Sheridan, Hughes, Wainwright, Owens and Gilmore all scoring tries, and Sheridan getting three conversions, Hornets went in at half time leading 26-0.
Second tries from Gilmore and Wainwright concluded an impressive performance by 12 players.

HORNETS were always behind in the first half, but thanks to tries from David Meadows and Daniel Price, and two conversions by Price, the half-time score was 12-18.
In stoppage time, Bold pressurised the Hornets line and slid in at the corner.

ST Cuthbert’s went in at half-time leading five tries to four.
Hornets threw the ball about to score seven unanswered tries. Man of the Match was Keenan McDaid for his excellent tackling.

HORNETS extended their winning run to three games with one of their best ever team performances.
On attack the Hornets played a controlled and disciplined game, scoring some fantastic tries as a result of some great teamwork.
Man of the match was Sean Brown.
