MARIES got back on track with a tough win against promotion favourites Miners.

Miners took an 8-0 lead but after the restart Ryan Quinn, Rowlands and Dean French combined to send Danny Yates over.

Ste Riley converted the first of his three successful kicks.

Welsh and Yates sent French in. And on the hour mark Maries scored their third and final try when Whitley charged through an unsuspecting defence to race 30 metres. Costas took over fed Welsh who put French in for his second.

Dave Welsh was the Athena Security Man of the Match Team: French, Jones, Burgan, Riley, Middleton, Welsh, Rowlands,Whitley, Allen, Crosby, Buck, Costas, Freeman. Subs: Quinn, Prendergast, Yates, Lawton.
