WIDNES put another building block in place for the start of the new season, when Head Coach Lee McDermott revealed his new look coaching team.

Well known faces Trevor Young and Wayne Lawrence have joined the coaching set –up along with ever present Paul Newall to assist McDermott as they look to go one better in next season’s South Lancs Cheshire One league campaign.

“I am delighted to have all three on board” said Lee. “Next season is going to be a really tough challenge especially following the retirement of Gareth Davies and Mark Sibson. But, with Trevor, Paul and Wayne at the helm, and with some great young talent coming through, we have high expectations once again” he enthused after training.

In other news, the Miller Homes league fixtures for 2009 – 10 have been announced.

During the opening month, the Second team begin with games against Tyldesley (A), Whitchurch (H) Wirral (A) and Didsbury TH (A).

The Third Team, meanwhile, open their account with fixtures against Waterloo (A), Moore (H), Sefton (A) and Birchfield (H).
