RUNCORN Linnets are going up as Hallmark Security League Premier Division Champions.
A glorious 5-0 victory against Squires Gate at the Millbank Linnets Stadium last Thursday sealed it.
And in a busy period, a 2-1 win over AFC Liverpool was followed by a 1-0 home defeat by local rivals Runcorn Town on Monday.
But that loss could not put a dampener on the party mood at Millbank, where Linnets were presented with the trophy.
Linnets have been knocking on the door for so long now, having not finished outside of the top six since 2012.
In that time they have finished sixth, fifth, second three years in a row and then fourth, before finally taking the top spot.
Widnes finished second, with Runcorn Town third.
