HALTON Swimming Club travelled to Winsford in Cheshire at the weekend to take part in the final Round of the Crusader League.

Halton, who were lying in 1st place going into the final gala had to put in the performance of the lives to maintain the top spot and win the League 1 shield, but with Winsford fielding their A team it was always going to be a tough ask.

Halton went into the final round with a lead of nearly twenty points and it didn’t take long for Winsford to start chipping away at the lead.

With Winsford winning most of the 51 races they overtook Halton and eventually finished the meet with a lead of 21 points.
