Tom Cavanagh from Halton Riverside boxing club fought on Saturday night.
This was the first bout as a new club and Tom fought hard to get a win against a very tough opponent in Billy Potter from Wildcard ABC St Helens.
it was on Potter's home show and Tom showed real class and toughness to come out on top.
The bout was stopped in the 3rd round due to a clash of heads which saw Tom’s eye cut badly, the bout then went to the cards with Tom winning a decision.
Tom's record now improves to w14, l6, it was Tom’s first bout in three years and on the night he looked better than ever and is now ready to progress through the ranks.
