HALTON SC swimmers were in action again at the weekend at the Prescot SC & Everton SA Open Spring Meet L3 held at Knowsley Leisure & Culture Park.

Sophie Buckley continued her recent good progress over the last few weeks to come away with four golds, one silver and a bronze from six events.

Sophie finished 1st place in the 100m freestyle, 50m freestyle, 200m freestyle and 100m backstroke. Silver came in the 100m butterfly and bronze in the 400m freestyle. All events produced new personal best times.

Ben Clayton took part in 50,100m & 400m freestyle, 200m breaststroke and 50m butterfly.

Ben won gold in the 50m fly, 200m breast and 50m freestyle. Silver medals came in the 100m freestyle and 400m freestyle events.

The youngest member of the squad, Cerys Neil, was swimming in her first competitive gala and produced a fine display, competing in the 100m freestyle, 100m breaststroke, 50m breaststroke, 50m freestyle, 200m freestyle, 200m breaststroke and the 50m butterfly where she produced some great new personal best times.

Jess Connolly had a busy programme on Sunday swimming in seven events.

Jess competed in the 100m breaststroke, 50m freestyle, 400m freestyle, 100m backstroke, 200m breaststroke, 50m backstroke and the 200 individual medley.

Her busy schedule produced no less than five personal best times, her best performances coming in the 400m freestyle and 200m individual medley where she knocked ten seconds and six seconds off respectively.

Jess also competed in the 100m breaststroke for the first time and finished the 50m freestyle just outside her current personal best time.

Lucy Harris competed in the 50m butterfly where she finished in second place claiming the silver medal and also swam well in the 50m and 100m freestyle, 50m and 100m backstroke and showed she is coming back to form finishing each event just on her current personal best times.

Emmie Brownlow competed in the 100m freestyle, 100m breaststroke, 50m breaststroke, 50m freestyle and the 50m butterfly where she came third and in turn collected the bronze medal.

As well as her 3rd place Emmie also produced new personal best times in the other four events, her best performance coming in the 100m breaststroke where she knocked over five seconds off her previous time.

Libby Harrison competed in the 100m breaststroke, 50m freestyle and 200m breaststroke.

Libby finished in 2nd place in the 100m breaststroke collecting the silver medal and 3rd place in the 200m event securing the bronze.

Sam Clayton competed in the 50m and100m & 400m freestyle producing new personal best times in each event.

Sam also swam in the 100m breaststroke where he collected the silver medal for finishing in 2nd place and also competed in the 50m and 200m breaststroke and 50m butterfly.

Rhys Croasdale swam in the 100m freestyle, 50m breaststroke, 50m and100m butterfly, producing three new personal best times.

Sam Shurie had a busy weekend swimming in the 50m, 100m and 200m freestyle, 50m,100m & 200m breaststroke and 50m,100m & 200m backstroke.

Sam collected two silver and one bronze medal as well as numerous personal best times.

Beth Howard-Hughes won a bronze medal in the 400m freestyle and her older brother Josh knocked over seven seconds off the 200m breaststroke and won a silver medal in the 400 individual medley.

Daniel Buckley competed in the 400m freestyle and finished in 3rd place collecting the bronze medal.
