RUNCORN Amateur Boxing Club visited the Owly Wood Club, Weaverham to compete in an event hosted by Boxfit.

Runcorn boxer Victor Zhao competed in his second skills bout in little over a week.

Zhao took on Peter Donoghue from Kingsway ABC.

Coach Darren O'Sullivan stated: "Victor's performance this evening was flawless, a lot of coaches from other gyms where enquiring about him afterwards, he certainly turned a lot of heads."

This event also marked a first skills bout for ABC boxer Alexander Quinton aged 14.

Quinton entered the ring to take on Daniel Dennis from Boxfit Academy in a tricky affair against a tall opponent.

After the bout O'Sullivan: "Alex made a solid start in his first bout, it was tricky given the height difference but he worked well to get inside his opponents guard.

"Now, we go back to the gym keep improving and move onto the next one."

ABC Coach Roy Tully states: "Alex and Victor are both a pleasure to coach. They both put in so much effort in the gym and are committed to their training regimes. They should both be extremely proud with their performances."

Runcorn ABC will be hosting our own event in early 2017.

They are seeking sponsorship to help fund the event and provide boxers with the opportunity to showcase their skills and further their development.
