ICE hockey player and hit TV Star Jesse McClure who has recently been whipping up the ratings with his all new show - British Treasure, American Gold, is getting ready to lace up his skates and hit the ice running for the "Winter Classic" Charity ice hockey game for the "All Star Select" team on 18 December.

Widnes Wild Ice Hockey Club is once again hosting their ever popular Winter Classic. The game is being held in aid of the ‘Cathie Stankevitch foundation'. Cathie, the mother of former St Helens and Widnes rugby player, John Stankevitch, was tragically killed whilst out walking. Since his mother's death, John has channelled all of his time and energy into setting up the foundation and has received charity status for all of his hard work and effort. The foundation works with underprivileged children and helps bring sport to kids that because of varying circumstances wouldn't usually have these opportunities. Guest players competing with Jesse on the "All Star Select" team are being announced daily on the Widnes Wild Facebook page and include past and present coaches, fellow players and coaches from other teams and even the Widnes Wild mascot - Pukka the penguin. Storage Hunters star Jesse is among the guest players. With fire in his heart and ice in his veins, Jesse can't wait to get his skates on and said: "I had an amazing time last year at Silver Blades Widnes with all the players and fans alike. "I was given an incredibly warm welcome, and it's awesome to be able to raise money for a great cause. I can't wait to be back in Widnes on 18th December to play some more hockey." Jon Anderson, Widnes Wild General Manger, said: "I'm really looking forward to this year's Widnes Wild v ‘All Stars' Winter Classic charity game. "We've managed to bring together a fine selection of players for the ‘All Star' roster and hopefully we can make a BIG impression on the ice. "It's great to have Jesse back with us. He was a huge hit with the fans at last year's memorial game and he is an excellent addition to this year's ‘All Star' roster." If you would like to go along and watch a thoroughly entertaining ice hockey game and help raise money for charity at the same time, the match starts at 5.30pm at Silver Blades Ice Rink, Widnes on Saturday 18 December.
