AT the Conwy Autumn Meet Halton Swimming Club were represented by 16-year-old Rachel Bate, 12-year-old Jess Connolly and 10-year-old Hannah Forsyth at the weekend.

The meet which is held in Llandudno is always very popular and attracts a large number of swimmers from the local area.

Rachel had a busy weekend taking part in eight events, the 100m butterfly, 50m freestyle, 200m individual medley, 50m butterfly, 100m freestyle, 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke and 200m freestyle.

She finished with six top ten finishes, her best place finishes were her 4th place in the 200m freestyle (2:22.96s) and 5th place in the 100m breaststroke (1:31.69s).

Jess competed in the 100m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, 200m breaststroke, 100m backstroke and the 200m freestyle.

Jess enjoyed a productive weekend finishing with six personal best times out of six races.

Jess knocked off over eight seconds off her previous 200m freestyle time, nearly four seconds off the 200m breaststroke, over two seconds off the 100m freestyle and 50m backstroke and over half a second in both the 100m backstroke and 50m breaststroke.

Hannah competed in the 50m freestyle and 50m breaststroke. She managed to knock over four seconds off her previous 50m freestyle time finishing in 41.69s but was unfortunate in the breaststroke where she had a disqualification.
