Year 8 Boys Final - Glantaf (Cardiff) 14-16 Wade Deacon (Widnes).

In a dramatic end to a fantastic Year 8 Boys final, Wade Deacon avenged their Wembley defeat of last year, beating Glantaf 16-14.

In a rematch of the 2015 Year 7 Boys final, the first half ebbed and flowed with Wade Deacon hitting the front three times through tries from Alex Sutton and a brace from centre William Gilhooley.

The sides went in at half time only six points apart at 16-10 as Glantaf posted points themselves through the towering Cai Marcus-Jemmett's double, which included an 80-metre solo effort.

The second half was a tight affair as Wade Deacon looked to defend their slender lead, but their resistance was finally broken when Louis Shugar jumped from dummy half to break the line and outpace the full-back to score.

Jac Lloyd's unsuccessful conversion meant Wade Deacon still led heading into the final minutes.

Glantaf worked hard to get back on terms but Wade Deacon held on to lift the trophy.
