WIDNES Wild will be fit and raring to go when they entertain the Hull Jets at Silver Blades Ice Rink on Sunday.

Having gone a weekend without a fixture are injury free and ready to do battle with the Jets for the first time this season.

Clashes between the two sides are always competitive affairs and Wild head coach Scott Mckenzie is looking forward to the test.

He said: "This season the Jets are more of an unknown quantity.

"However I am not worried about the opposition as we will be focusing on what we do and making sure that the guys are ready to play for sixty minutes.

“I think in the main part we have started the season really well.

We just need to stick to our systems for the whole game as when we do that we are very difficult to break down and it’s only when we deviate from our game plan we cause a lot of problems to ourselves.

"So on Sunday I am really looking for a solid performance from the guys."

A strange weekend in NIHL Laidler conference saw the Nottingham Lions defeat the league favourites Deeside Dragons 7-2 as well as gaining two valuable points against the Altrincham Aces on Sunday night.

This four-point haul has pushed the Lions to the top of the league, albeit that the Lions have played a few more games than the other teams in the league.

Face-off for Sunday’s home game at Silver Blades Ice Rink is the usual 5.30pm.
