Runcorn Linnets completed their second forward capture in a day by bringing back Antony Hickey to the club from Evo-Stik League Premier outfit Skelmersdale United.

He was one of three players making their debuts in Tuesday's 4-0 win at Abbey Hey, which lifted the Linnets to second spot in the North West Counties League Premier Division.

Hickey had previously played for Runcorn in 2013-14 season, top scoring with 20 goals, before leaving in July 2014 for a second spell at Warrington Town.

He subsequently returned to Skelmersdale with whom he had been a 2012-13 Evo-Stik League Division One title winner. Skem have retained the player's Evo-Stik League registration.

Hickey rejoined the Linnets ranks in time for kick-off and just hours after manager Dunn had snapped up prolific front man Jason Carey from reigning top-flight NWCL champions Glossop North End.

Both new strikers joined 'keeper Dean Porter, a weekend recruit also signed from Skelmersdale, in this evening's starting line-up in Manchester.

Midfieldmen Kyle Hamid (twice) and Kyle Armstrong were on target but the highlight was a remarkable long-range goal from striker Kurt Sherlock, who spectacularly launched a shot over the home 'keeper from just inside the opposition half.
