Runcorn Linnets' trip to Colne, in common with the vast majority of North West Counties League fixtures, fell victim to the weekend weather.
However, a rearranged home game against AFC Blackpool this coming Saturday gives Joey Dunn's team chance to extend their lead in the Premier Division.
With second-placed Glossop North End on FA Vase duty, Linnets can restore their 15-point cushion at the top with victory over the Mechanics. Kick-off at the Millbank Linnets Stadium is at 3pm.
Runcorn returned from November's corresponding away fixture on the Fylde coast with a hard-earned 3-1 win.
Meanwhile, after a seven-week break enforced by the weather, Runcorn Linnets Youth returned from third-placed Daisy Hill with an excellent comeback victory in North West Youth Alliance Division Two.
Trailing 2-0 after 20 minutes against a team generally a year their senior, Linnets showed resolve and spirit for a 3-2 win on Sunday.
This Sunday, Andy Hill's youngsters are due to visit Colne.
Meanwhile after their exciting 6-5 victory on penalties against Vauxhall Motors Ladies in the Cheshire FA Ladies Cup preliminary round, Runcorn Linnets Ladies have been drawn at home to Winsford Ladies. The first-round tie is scheduled for Sunday, February 15 (ko 1pm).
The defeat of Vauxhall was unusual not only for the 6-6 draw after 90 minutes but also the fact that Linnets' newly-signed 'keeper Jon Ritchie, who had made his debut the previous day in victory over Nelson, manages Vauxhall Ladies.
He was absent from the touchline because of a coaching course but Linnets Ladies boss, and club Trust Board member, John Pickering no doubt gave him a full rundown on his return!
