Rylands continued to press the home side and they got further reward when Joel Brownhill headed home to make it 2-0, again coming from bad defending by Eagle.

Eagle began to push on and were awarded a penalty, which Stuart Wellstead converted to reduce the deficit to 2-1. Rylands did hit the woodwork through Kris Bell before the break but the score remained at 2-1 going into the break.

Eagle manager Rob Hope made a couple of half time changes and this sparked some life into his side. Moments later, Lowe drove a shot wide when well placed and Bell headed wide in a good opening period for Rylands.

Sandbach responded well and after Salau had headed wide form a corner kick, they were awarded a penalty on 28 minutes when Duffy brought down Clayton in the box. However, Suttons resultant spot kick came back off the post and Rylands cleared the danger to maintain their advantage.

Moments before the break,Sandbach levelled matters when Smiths fine through ball was coolly converted by Sutton beating Moor with a low angled drive.

Rylands started the second half in determined fashion and after Bell and Brownhill had seen efforts drift wide, Duffy played an excellent angled through ball for Dave Tierney to open his account for the club with a well taken finish at the far post on 57 minutes. The goal rocked the visitors and they fell further behind 7 minutes later when Bell finished smartly following a fine flowing move involving Ajayi, Southern and Brownhill.

Sandbach responded well and Moor made a good save from Sutton before an effort drifted wide of the Rylands goal. With five minutes remaining, an anxious finale for Rylands was ensured when the visitiors were awarded a second penalty after Gibson pulled down Ajai and Sutton made no mistake this time to reduce the arrears.
