WIDNES Vikings player Willie Isa has been suspended and fined by an independent disciplinary tribunal following two dangerous contact offences in the Tetley’s Challenge Cup semi-final against Castleford Tigers on Sunday at Leigh Sports Village.

Isa pleaded guilty to Grade B dangerous contact on Castleford Tigers player Kirk Dixon in the 62nd minute of the game and has been suspended for two matches.

Isa was found guilty of Grade B dangerous contact on Castleford Tigers player Andy Lynch in the 63rd minute of the game after pleading not guilty. He was suspended for one game and given an overall fine of £300.

Batley Bulldogs player Lee Paterson has also been suspended for five games after being found guilty of using homophobic abuse to another player in the 72nd minute of a Kingstone Press Championship fixture against Leigh Centurions played on Sunday August 3.

Paterson, who pleaded not guilty, was also fined £50 by an independent disciplinary tribunal.
