Runcorn and Widnes World: Stefan Marsh - try scorer Stefan Marsh - try scorer

Widnes Vikings are in the hat for the Challenge Cup semi final for the first time since 1996 after an emphatic ten-try triumph over Keighley.

There was never a sniff of a shock after Vikings got off to a flying start when Declan Hulme flew over in the corner after only two minutes.

A fine tackle busting run from Alex Gerrard sent Tom Gilmore in for the first of his hat-trick of tries.

And after Rhys Hanbury was held up, Kevin Brown went in from dummy half.

Brown's second one was a classy long range effort, stepping and speeding over the line.

Tries from Jack Owens and Stefan Marsh continued the one way traffic, making it 32-0 at the break.

Vikings cashed in on a Keighley error from the kick off, with Willie Isa scoring a minute after the restart.

But the Cougars grabbed a consolation score when Daley Williams nipped in.

Normal service was soon resumed when Gilmore chased a superb Brown kick to touch down.

And after Marsh had had one chalked off Danny Craven showed his pace to dash in.

That came moments after he had been high tackled in an incident that sparked a brief melee.

Gilmore brought he scoring to a close when he supported well to motor over.
