WIDNES have a great chance to get their show back on the road again in North One West, when they take on basement side Altrincham Kersal on Saturday at Heath Road.
Lee McDermott’s side have had a fortnight to lick their wounds following defeat at the hands of league leaders Wirral, and they will be looking to get back to winning ways, whilst at the same time, knocking another nail into the relegation coffin of their South Manchester opponents.
In the first meeting between the sides back in October, the men from Heath Road twice coughed up a comfortable winning margin, and, in the end, they were fortunate to come away with a narrow 31 – 25 victory.
At that time, for Widnes, it was their seventh successive win which left them clear at the top of the table, but for Altrincham Kersal, it was the start of a miserable run that has seen them lose fourteen successive matches, and which leaves them marooned at the foot of the table, 24 points away from survival with just eight rounds of the competition left.
The game kicks off at 2.15pm.
