VIKINGS boss Mick Cassidy was complimentary about the efforts of trialists Liam Hulme and Luke Menzies who both played in the game against Warrington over the Christmas period.

Former Bradford and Salford prop Menzies, who has also had spells at Oldham, Dewsbury and Hunslet, came off the bench in the match He was joined by ex-Warrington back rower Liam Hulme, son of Widnes great Paul, who made a try scoring debut.

Cassidy said: “I thought they handled it really well. They both represented themselves very well and it was good for them to get a game under their belts to show us what they can do. We’ll continue to have a look at them in the next couple of weeks.

“We are always on the look out for good players. We will certainly have a look at individuals if and when they become available. I’m pretty sure that our squad isn’t complete yet. We will see who comes around and we’ll take it from there. Denis never switches off and he’s talking to people all the time.”
