A 78th minute goal from Jack Webb saw Barnton finish victorious in their local derby with Rudheath Social. The 1-0 win sees Barnton move up to third spot, a point behind their rivals who have played a game less.

Crewe shared the points with Greenalls PSO as the teams played out an entertaining 0-0 draw. The point puts Crewe five points clear of Rudheath in second, having played three games more.

Last seasons top two sides were again evenly matched as they drew 1-1. The first half was a tight affair with both sides cancelling each other out. Eagle had goalkeeper Neil McDermott to thank for keeping the game scoreless when he made a superb double save, first from Matt Woolley’s 20-yard drive and then from Jack Woolley’s powerful follow-up. Eagle came close moments later when Jay Waldron’s right-wing cross was headed just over the bar by Owen Ellis.

Eagle took the lead six minutes before half time in fortuitous fashion. Right-back Adam Coleman whipped in a deep, swirling cross that caught the strong wind, it deceived Mark Higgs in the Knutsford goal and went straight in. Eagle could have doubled their lead a minute later when Craig Hall headed towards goal from Liam Walker’s corner, only to see his effort superbly stopped by Higgs. Knutsford almost equalised on the stroke of half time when Reece Davies found Sean Lynch unmarked in the area, but his low drive went wide of the near post.

The second half was controlled in the most part by Knutsford. Jack Woolley came close early on in the half when his 20-yard effort curled narrowly over the bar.

McDermott again came to the rescue for Eagle when Reece Davies won the ball from Richard Chinn at the back, he tried an outside of the foot effort that McDermott palmed around the post at full stretch.

Knutsford's Lynch found himself free in the area for a second time soon after, but he was denied again when his strike was blocked superbly by Craig Hall.

Scott Beattie then came close when Jack Woolley got to the byline and pulled the ball back to Beattie whose first time effort was saved again by the impressive McDermott.

Knutsford’s equaliser came seven minutes from time, Steve Jenyons drove a free kick in to the area from the half-way line and Sean Lynch rose highest to nod home his tenth goal of the season. The final few minutes of the game were played at a frantic pace with both sides looking for a winner that ultimately never came.

Denton Town looked strong as they finished 3-0 winners at home against Pilkington. The win keeps Denton in 15th place in the table but they only trail their opponents now by goal difference.

Ewan Rodger scored twice for Rylands, with Lee Deakin also scoring on his debut appearance from the club. Billinge's goal came from Graeme Green but it was Rylands who took maximum points as they finished 3-1 winners at home.

Division Two.

Malpas moved to within four points of leaders Poynton following a 2-1 win at home against Moore United.

The strong wind blowing across the pitch caused problems for both sides and Malpas found it difficult in the final third to get the final ball right. Moore pressed all over the park making Malpas work for space to play which is key to their passing game.

Malpas got the first goal after 26 minutes when a pass from Danny Lloyd found top scorer Alex Hughes. Hughes cut inside beating two players and driving low into the bottom corner for 1-0. Although Malpas looked to build on their lead it was Moore who started to take control and the home side had a blow when skipper Steve Watkins had to leave the pitch with a bad cut. Moore got back on level terms when a free kick went through to Dave Willett who made no mistake to give Moore a well deserved leveller just before half time.

Despite the wind continuing to cause issues, Malpas looked good going forward and Hughes got his second in the 56th minute went he made no mistakes just inside the box for 2-1. Moore pressed but Malpas held strong at the back and finished the game victorious.

Bradley Parker (2) and Andrew Williams gave Warrington Town Reserves a 3-0 half time lead as they played host to Sandbach United. Reserve Division Styal climbed into second place as they breezed to a 5-1 win at home against Rylands.
