WIDNES Vikings Director Roddy Snedden has made a further investment into the club to increase his ownership stake.

Snedden, who joined the board only six months ago, says there’s no better time than now to increase his financial investment further, especially after witnessing first-hand the improvements the Vikings have made this year.

"Since becoming a Director at Widnes Vikings, it has been a pleasure to be involved with the club, and its continuing growth,” Sneddon said.

“The level of work and commitment displayed by all the staff and their enthusiasm to continue the already vast improvements that are being made, confirmed that my initial investment in June was the right decision.

“On seeing the improving structure of the youth programme, as well as the improvements within the first team and Denis's long term vision, I felt that now was a great time to continue my support and further invest in what I believe is a very exciting period in Widnes Viking's future.”

James Rule, Widnes Vikings CEO, added: “It’s been a pleasure working with Roddy as he has evolved from sponsoring the Club to owning a part of it.

"I am delighted that in the relatively short space of time since he became a Director that he has seen enough evidence of progress to encourage him to invest further in the Vikings and increase his ownership share.

“That decision reflects positively on all of the directors, staff, coaches, players and our fans who all play their part in building the infrastructure behind our Club. I look forward to working with him as we continue to drive our Club forward."
