Division One: Crewe continued their fine run of form as they stormed to an 11-2 home win over Pilkington. Ben Burrows, Stevie McNichol, Nathan Southern, Nathan Ylcklr all scored twice, with further goals coming from Ian Carr, Carl Everall and Josh Brehaut. This impressive victory moves Crewe four points clear at the top of the table as we hit the mid point of the season.
Greenalls PSO and Knutsford shared the points in a feisty 1-1 draw that saw three players shown the red card. Craig Hoyland scored for Greenalls, with Knutsford's goal coming from Joe Woolley.
Rudheath Social continue to impress as they finished 6-1 winners away at Denton Town. Craig Millington scored twice, while Stu Tulloch, Nick Newman, Craig Humphries and Sam Didsbury also made the score sheet. The win keeps Rudheath in third place, six points off top spot but with four games in hand.
Billinge crept further up the table with a 4-2 win away at Middlewich Town. Chris Godwin, Graeme Greene, Chad Whyte and Joe Unsworth scored for Billinge with Middlewich's goals coming from Jack Bryning and Jamie Collina.
Rylands produced a superb team display to record a well deserved victory at the home of Derbyshire based Whaley Bridge despite difficult conditions. Whaley started really well and might have taken an early lead when Sullivan fired a shot wide from inside the penalty area after three minutes. Shortly after, Andy Moor saved well to deny Sullivan again as Whaley dominated the early stages.
It was 27 minutes before Rylands produced their first effort on goal with Kris Bell firing a shot straight at the Whaley keeper. At the other end Chris Brown made a tremendous last ditch challenge to deny Whaley the opener. Rylands almost took the lead against the run of play when James Sinker headed a Liam Hayes corner over the bar from close range.
The second half saw a much improved display from Rylands with Hayes and Lowe dominating the midfield area with Daniels, Brownhill, Slater and Bell causing all manner of problems for the home defence with their movement and intelligent link up play.
After Daniels had forced a good save from the home keeper, Slater linked with Hayes before beating the keeper with a well placed shot to give Rylands the lead.
Kris Bell then had a goal disallowed for offside before Phil Harrison fired narrowly wide from a corner kick. It was all Rylands from this point and after 64 minutes, Alex Lowe doubled their lead with a well placed effort from outside the penalty area.
Andy Moor maintained the two goal advantage with a good save from Collinson before Daniels and Brownhill saw late efforts saved by the Whaley keeper.
Division Two A brace from Sam Lloyd and a goal from Ed Pattinson helped Tarporley Victoria to a convincing 3-0 win at home against Maine Road Reserves to move their side up to eighth spot, while Sandbach United sit in second after a 3-1 win at home against Egerton.
Malpas finished 2-0 winners as they travelled to Penlake. Malpas took the lead after 8 minutes when Matty Dutton found Alex Hughes who picked out the run off the inform Andy Morris with a back heel. Morris broke into the box with defenders either side of him to slot home bottom left hand corner. The next period of play saw Penlake pressed hard for an equaliser and Malpas struggled to clear their lines. Malpas could have made it 2-0 when Alex Hughes was brought down in the box. Hughes got up to take the kick, but the keeper saved well pushing the ball on to the bar, the rebound fell to Owen Ward's who sent his shot into the side netting before the break.
The conditions had started to play a major part with constant rain and a cold wind, making it hard to play a passing game and sapping energy.
Penlake looked to long range shots as they tried to get passed Conner Tinsley in the Malpas goal, but his sure handling showed he was on top of his game. Malpas went 2-0 up when a free kick from Danny Lloyd found Owen Ward just inside the box and he made no mistake firing home on 54 minutes.
As expected Penlake looked to get a goal back but the Malpas side showed good shape and defended well with skipper Steve Watkins and Eddy Barlow solid at the centre of the back line.
A fine save low down by Conner Tinsley was cleared by Richard Sadler late on to secure all three points for Malpas.
Reserve Division Eagle Sports moved up to twelfth spot with a 3-2 home win over Gamesley with Gary Moriarty, Danny Reid and James Maher all hitting home, while Grappenhall Sports finished 2-1 winners at home against Poynton.
Greenalls PSO went five points clear at the top with a narrow 2-1 victory away at Billinge. Alex Hardman scored on his return from a six week injury break with the other goal from Neil Glendinning.
Reserve Division Cup Denton Town secured a 1-0 win away at Daten, while Whaley Bridge won 4-0 at Pilkington to secure their place in the next round of the cup.
