Widnes made it two wins out of two in the Raging Bull League their Northwich opponents made the early running putting the Heath Road youngsters under pressure in the early stages of the game but strong defence especially from Sean McMuldroch, Mitch Dyas, Geoff Cooke and Aaron Duggan kept their line in tact.
Widnes managed to break ouot of their own half, full back Luke McMahon jinked his way out of his own half linking with wing man Alex Clare resulting in a penalty, Tom Beech putting over Sean McMuldroch for the first try.
Minutes later second row Aaron Duggan was in the right place at the right time to dive over at the corner flag.
Beech added a wonderful conversion from the touchline. Winnington did manage a penalty goal for a 12 - 3 half time lead for the Wids.
The second half saw the Wids take more control of the game through their forwards.
Tom Beech orchestrated play from stand off. Widnes extended their lead, debutant James Butler went over after excellent hands from the Widnes three quarters.
Beech added the conversion the only other score of the half came from a penalty goal from Beech. Widnes' man of the match was awarded to Tom Beech pushed closely by Aaron Duggan. The Colts travel to Derbyshire on Sunday to take on Glossop.
