Winterstein to leave Widnes Vikings
10:37am Friday 6th September 2013 in Sport
Widnes Vikings' Samoan International Frank Winterstein will leave the club at the end of the 2013 Super League season.
Vikings play their final game of the season tonight at Salford.
Having debuted for Canterbury Bulldogs in the NRL competition in 2008, 26-year-old Frank joined the Vikings in advance of the club's return to the elite competition in 2012 from Crusaders. The Australian back-rower moved to the Brewery Field after an impressive spell at Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in 2009.
To date, Winterstein has made 50 appearances for the Vikings and scored 16 tries.
Vikings Head Coach Denis Betts said: "Frank has been a valued member of our squad over the course of the past two seasons. Away from the field, he has also been a great ambassador for the club in the community.
"On behalf of the club and its supporters, I would like to thank him for his time, effort and energies spent in a Vikings shirt. Whilst doing so, I would also like to wish him the best of luck for his future."
