West Bank Bear U’12s 16 v 32 Thatto Heath Crusaders.

In a classic ‘game of two halves’, West Bank were unlucky not to come out on top.

The home side were quickly out of the blocks with some great attacking play from Jordan Glover which led to Josh Law-Holland scoring the first try of the season.

This was quickly followed by a lovely try from Ryan Murray on his debut performance for the Bears! Thatto Heath replied but with only 2 minutes of the first half remaining Michael Smith had a great run and off load to Ethan Dwyer who scored in the corner.

The Bears had some really good ideas in the first half and had set themselves up for a great second half. However, that all changed after the break, as West Bank seemed to lose momentum. Thatto Heath started to dominate as West Bank started to miss tackles and leave some gaps in the defensive line.

Overall though, it was a good first performance from West Bank and there were lots of positives to take forward to the game next Sunday.

Man of the Match: Ryan Murray for a good overall play on his debut.
