Runcorn’s Lee Morgan finishes season with Donington Park double

LEE Morgan from Runcorn recently raced at Donington Park in his Formula Jedi single seater in the final round of the season for the BRSCC Championship.

Day one saw Lee take pole position in an action packed qualifying event on slicks with a drying track.

Lee went on to win race one and in the process, he set a new lap record.

Day two, Lee qualified third on the grid and after a terrific race, took victory again, resulting in Lee finishing third overall in the 2012 championship.

Later Lee said: “It’s a fantastic way to finish the season, we haven’t been able to attend all the events this year and to finish third is a great achievement in our first year”.

“Our aim this year was to compete in a second-hand car on a very tight budget without sponsorship to see if we could be competitive, I think we’ve proved that.”

“We’re now searching for local and national companies to help with sponsorship for next season to see what we can really do.”
