Vicky impresses in England Students win

WIDNESIAN Vicky Whitfield helped England Students women’s rugby league team defeat Great Britain Teachers 36-6.

She was joined by fellow Cronton Sixth Form students Tara Jones, of Warrington, and Safina Clay, of St Helens, in the national team coached by Mark Brennan, who is a sports tutor at the Cronton Lane college.

Brennan said: “Both Tara and Safina gave their all for the team. Vicky was also very good and should be pushing for further representative honours in the near future.”
