Gifted pianist to perform at Brindley

A GIFTED pianist is making a 3,000-mile journey to perform at the award-winning Brindley theatre.

Ukranian Sergei Salov is flying from Canada to Runcorn to fulfil a long standing engagement with the Yorkshire Chamber Orchestra.

He will be bringing Halton's Steinway grand piano to life with his mesmerising dexterity.

His phenomenal performance last year left the audience stunned.

He will be on stage at 7.30pm on Saturday, April 12 and will immediately return to Canada for a lunchtime concert on Sunday in Montreal.

Sergei will perform Mozart's last piano concerto no 27, written as the composer reached the peak of his powers.

Elgar's charming Serenade for Strings and Schubert's witty and moving symphony no 5 in B flat major are also included in the programme.

Tickets priced £20, £17 concessions, are available from the box office on 0151 907 8360.
