Pupils from Palacefields Primary School stage their own magical production

LEWIS Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland was brought to life at Runcorn’s Norton Priory Museum and Gardens.

Children from Palacefields Primary School dressed up in colourful costumes to perform their own version of the famous tale.

They staged three shows for relatives and friends.

Claire Broadhurst, learning officer at Norton Priory, said: “Everyone really enjoyed themselves. It was a great day and all the kids were amazing.”

Lewis Carroll was born and grew up in the nearby village of Daresbury, where his father was the local vicar at Daresbury All Saints Church.

Dianne Moran, head teacher of Palacefields Primary School, said: “The quality of the experience was exceptional for all involved.“I want to thank everybody for their support, not least the parents, many of whom walked to Norton Priory and back more than once that day to see their child perform.

“We are used to high quality performing arts outcomes for our pupils, but this was inspirational.”
