THEY have been festive favourites with pretty much everyone this Christmas.

Kevin and Katie the carrots helped Aldi secure the most popular Christmas advert this year.

And now the toys are flying off the shelves in stores and being sold online for inflated prices.

The supermarket chain released Kevin and Katie carrot soft toys at the end of last month and announced their children -  Chantenay, Baby Carrot and Jasper would go on sale today, Thursday priced £2.99.

But with reports of queuing shoppers across the country, many buyers have already placed the must-have toys on Ebay for up to £100.

Only two per person can be purchased in stores, with money raised going towards the Teenage Cancer Trust, leaving many customers frustrated to see the toys being sold for inflated prices.

The chain has responded to criticism on Twitter adding: "We are disappointed that a small number of people are looking to profit from a good cause.

"We always try to ensure that the carrot toys are distributed fairly to our customers but unfortunately we cannot always control how they are used afterwards."
