Robbers threaten shop staff with a sword

ROBBERS armed with a sword burst into a Runcorn shop, police revealed today.
The two offenders threatened staff at Costcutters in Castlefields.
Terrified employees ran to the back of the store and both men fled emptyhanded.
DC Neal Davison, of Runcorn CID, said: "No one was injured in the incident but the staff were left shaken by their ordeal.
"We take incidents of this nature very seriously and will continue to carry out enquiries."
The first man is described as white, around 5ft 9ins tall, and of stocky build. He was wearing a black jacket with a grey coloured hood and black trousers. His face was covered with a black scarf.
The second man was wearing dark clothing and blue shoes.
The incident happened at around 9pm, on Thursday, October 4.
