CHILDREN have elected their own leaders at a Runcorn school.

Moore Primary School have elected this year’s head boy and head girl and their deputies.

Year six pupils who wish to stand as candidates write their speeches and then deliver their addresses at an assembly.

Only children can vote.

Head teacher Jan MacDonald said: “Children holding these positions have important roles to play in the school.

“They are ambassadors, role models and get involved in many different ways helping with the smooth running of the school. Staff are delighted.”

Emily Walker was elected head girl and Sian Dennett as her deputy.

Billy Jones is head boy and Euan Daley is his deputy.
