A CHARITY coffee morning in West Bank, Widnes, has raised £1,460 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Residents teamed up to bake cakes and serve tea and coffee at Spike Island visitor centre.
Ray Pye from Green Reclaim gave up his time to collect non-ferrous metal donated from local businesses, and raised £720.
Julie Baker, chairman of West Bank Community Forum, said: “We would also like to thank all who attended the event, baked cakes, helped to serve on the day and set up and those who donated prizes and scrap metal.
“Without the help received and donations, events like this, to help such a worthy cause would not be possible.”
Halton’s Mayor and Mayoress, Clrs Tom and Angela McInerney helped to serve coffee and cakes to visitors.
The Apollo Group and Halton Housing Trust staff also supported the event.
Foma Constructions, Howden’s kitchens, Radial Electrics, Top Notch Kitchens and Swindells roofing provided raffle prizes.
