HALTON’S Mayor and Mayoress received a £1,000 donation from a Runcorn business for their chosen charities.
John Lewis, managing director of SOG Limited, presented the gift to Cllrs Tom and Angela McInerney at The Heath Business and Technical Park, which is owned and operated by the company.
The money will be shared between Widnes & Runcorn Cancer Support Group and the Let’s Go Club.
Mr Lewis said: “This year’s Mayor’s fund is in support of two extremely worthwhile organisations that do fantastic work to improve the lives of residents in Halton who require support for cancer or stroke illnesses.
I’m delighted that our donation will help to fund the marvellous work undertaken by these charitable groups.”
Clr McInerney said: “SOG are really supportive of local charitable organisations and we’d like to thank them for this very generous gift.
“For a business to do this in these difficult times is fantastic.”
