SLIMY worms were on the menu at a Runcorn school as children celebrated Roald Dahl’s birthday.
Molly Willis, a year three pupil at Moore Primary School in Lindfield Close, asked school cooks if they could prepare a special feast in honour of this famous author.
The children made birthday cakes and decorated the serving hatch.
They then tucked into Bruce Bogtrotter’s cake, which features in Dahl’s book, Matilda, complete with slimy worms and pieces of James’ giant peach.
Head teacher Jan MacDonald said:" Roald Dahl is our featured author this half term, so it was fitting to celebrate his birthday in this way.
“The children are loving finding out more about him and enjoying his books."
