SCIENCE students watched exciting experiments on board a juggernaut.
More than 150 pupils from SS Peter and Paul Catholic College boarded a ‘lab in a lorry’ when it visited their school in Highfield Road, Widnes, on Thursday.
The interactive mobile laboratory brings science to life as it travels across the country.
Dr Jonathan Springall, head of chemistry: “The Lab in a Lorry was a magnificent way to show our students the real life applications of the scientific concepts they are studying in the classroom.
“They really engaged with all of the activities and had great fun.”
Scientists and engineers share their passion by encouraging children to hear, see and feel how science can be applied to everyday life.
They demonstrated the behaviour of waves to help children understand the complex nature of the oceans.
Mr Kevin Lancaster, head of physics, said: “We’re always on the lookout for innovative learning activities and this was a great example.”
The visit was arranged by physics teacher, Andrea Fesmer, who belongs to the Institute of Physics.
