INTREPID fundraisers scaled the three highest peaks in the UK to make a little boy’s dying wish come true.

A team of Runcorn climbers conquered the tallest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales, in 24 hours at the weekend to treat their four-year-old cousin to the holiday of a lifetime.

‘Team Jason’ raised thousands of pounds to enable Jason Ferrara Campbell to visit Disneyland.

Bev Tilley, aged 57, of Murdishaw, whose sons completed the climb, said: “Jason is a cheeky little chappy who is just lovely.

“He became lethargic and within four days he was diagnosed with a very rare aggressive cancer on his brain stem. It is absolutely inoperable.

“His mum, Michelle was upset that it had not been caught before but she was assured by the neurological consultant that it comes on very quickly. Specialists say he may have only 12 months or less.

“As soon as our family heard, the boys said they had to do something.”

Her sons, Jack, aged 26, from Linnets Park, and Chris, aged 24, from Sutton Park, joined her nephew, Alan Worthington, aged 30, from Windmill Hill and cousins Nick Price, aged 26, from Higher Runcorn, and David Brown, aged 37, from Higher Runcorn.

Chris said: “The weather was appalling, but It was unbelievable, the best thing I have ever done.”

Bev said: “We want Jason, his mum and dad, nine-month-old sister, Jamie, and eight-year-old brother, Joshua to enjoy a magical holiday.”

Runcorn businesses, OddJobs, LA Tattoo and Reload Designs have donated sponsorship.

The Heath Business park is doing a cycle-a-thon.

Jason’s cousin, Patti Bradshaw, who runs the Shannon Bradshaw Trust in Warrington has donated £1,000.
