HAIRDRESSERS swopped their scissors for food mixers to createt a feast of cakes.
Staff at Joanne Clare hair salon in Moorfield Road, Widnes, joined the world’s biggest coffee morning event in aid of Macmillan Cancer.
The seven girls served an array of freshly baked cakes and coffee and have so far raised almost £200.
They only planned to stage the charity event on Friday morning but it proved so popular, they kept their tea shop going all day.
Joanne Shaw, who runs the salon with Claire Munn, said: “Some of our customers have relatives with cancer. We wanted to do something to support them.
“The response was absolutely fantastic.
“Everyone was chatting and laughing and really enjoyed getting to know each other.
“We would like to thank all our customers for their generosity.”
