Runcorn woman punched in the face by a mugger

A WOMAN was punched in the face by a robber after refusing to hand over her mobile phone.

The 20-year-old woman was walking along Westfield Crescent in Runcorn when she was suddenly attacked.

Two men grabbed her and demanded cash and her phone.

She refused and was hit in the face, causing a minor injury.

Police today appealed for information to trace the muggers, who fled empty-handed.

The first man is described as white, about 5ft 9ins tall, around 20-years-old and of medium build. He was wearing a black baseball cap and black trousers.

The second man is described as white, in his early 20s and of medium build.
