A CHARITY car wash is being held at the Tesco Extra store in Lugsdale Road, Widnes, on Saturday, September 22, from 10.30am to 4pm.
Firefighters, fire cadets and volunteers will be out with their buckets and sponges, raising money for The Fire Fighters Charity.
Deputy chief fire officer, Mark Cashin, chairman of the charity, said: "This car wash is a great way to raise money for The Fire Fighters Charity, which has provided assistance to serving and retired firefighters for more than 60 years, and also to increase awareness of road safety.
"Unfortunately, our firefighters see first hand the tragic consequences of road traffic collisions.
“I really hope that drivers will go along and support this event as they will not only be helping this charity, but they will also take away vital road safety advice which could save their lives.”
