A two week food festival takes off in Halton

A SMORGASBORD of events guaranteed to whet the appetite and get the taste buds tingling are about to take off.
Culinary lovers in for a treat as Widnes and Runcorn celebrates My Halton Foody Fortnight from Monday, September 17.
Highlights will include chefs live on stage in the town’s markets, beer and ale cake tasting at Norton Priory, a baked potato trail and the chance to watch ice cream being made.
Halton Council leader Cllr Rob Polhill, said: "I am really looking forward again to what is becoming a very popular fortnight in Halton's calendar. There are events for everyone!"
Almost 10,000 people watched the events last year at Widnes Market alone.
