A CHARITY golf day has raised a phenomenal £36,000.
The event, organised by Fiddler’s Ferry Power Station, was held at Blundells Hill.
The money was shared between Halton Haven Hospice, Zoe’s Place baby hospice, St Rocco’s hospice, Midlands Air Ambulance and the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Burns Unit in Birmingham.
Jannette Pierce, assistant to the station manager, said: “It’s fantastic being able to support local charities.
“The excellent care and support provided by Halton Haven has touched the hearts of many members of staff at Fiddler’s Ferry Power Station, so presenting our nominated charities with their cheques is an honour.”
Organiser Brian McAdam, said: “The weather forecast was heavy rain and even lightning which would have caused the golf to be suspended. Amazingly, apart from some ominous black clouds, a tiny shower and one big crack of thunder, we were dealt another glorious day.”
