ROBBERS armed with a wooden bat burst into a Widnes shop.
Three men stormed into the Co-op in Hale Road.
One man brandished a bat and kept the door open whilst his two accomplices jumped over the counter and stashed a quantity of cigarettes into a duvet cover.
The trio fled in the same vehicle they arrived in, a red car, believed to be a Renault.
Detectives today appealed for information from the public.
The first man, was wearing a blue or grey Adidas tracksuit with black trainers. His face was covered with a scarf.
The second robber was wearing a black top with a grey hood, black tracksuit bottoms, white trainers and green gloves.
The third member of the gang was wearing a black hooded top with black tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.
The robbery happened on Monday, September 3, at around 9.25pm.
Anyone with information can call Cheshire Police on 101.
