Speaking club offers practical tips for beginners

IF you cringe at the thoughts of giving a presentation or a wedding speech, help is at hand.
North Cheshire Speakers Club starts its new season at 7.30pm, on Tuesday, September 11, at the Arts Centre, Castle Park, Frodsham.
Founder member Margaret Leahy, from Widnes, said: “Our new programme includes a workshop on the use of microphones, theme evenings on personal treasures, giving a toast at a special occasion or just speaking on any subject of your choice.
“Every speech is listened to by a supportive and friendly audience and guidance is given.
“We can show you how to construct and deliver a speech, how to use your voice, how to control your nerves, how to begin, how to end.”
