OVERNIGHT maintenance to help keep carriageways around one of the country’s busiest motorway interchanges in tip-top condition for drivers starts shortly.
Sections of both the westbound and eastbound carriageways of the M56 between junction 9 at Lymm, where the motorway meets junction 20a of the M6, and junction 11 at Preston Brook, Runcorn, are being resurfaced.
The £168,000 Highways Agency project begins on Monday, September, 17, and lasts until Sunday, October, 21.
All the work, including resurfacing and renewal of road markings, road studs and skid resistance, will take place between 10pm and 5am to minimise inconvenience to drivers.
