A FERRY across the Mersey was enjoyed by members of a Halton Alzheimer’s support group.

The Lunch Bunch sailed along the River Mersey and visited Liverpool Museum.

Widow Doris Pearce, aged 70, has run the group since her husband, Kenneth, aged 72, who suffered from the condition, passed away two years ago.

She organises trips, guest speakers and lots of fun-filled activities.

Doris, of Glebe Lane, Widnes, said:” Everyone really enjoyed our ride in a ferry boat. We’re going on a little cruise along the River Weaver next week and visiting the Anderton Lift.

“I try my best to organise as many things as I can. When you see how much members and carers enjoy it, it makes it all worthwhile.”

The Lunch Bunch helps people with Alzheimer’s and their carers and familes.

The group meets every Tuesday, from 12 noon to 2.30pm, in Murdishaw Community Centre in Runcorn.

Anyone interested in joining can call Doris on 0151 423 1155.
