A UNIQUE project is being developed to discover the history of glasshouses in Victoria Park in Widnes.
An appeal is being made to anyone who has old pictures, stories or memorabilia.
Louise Nulty, who is organising The Glasshouse Story, said: “We are planning to trace the history of the glasshouses from Victorian times to the present day, looking at the glasshouses as they looked then, what would have been grown and why, any events relating to this.”
If you have any knowledge of planting, vegetable growing in Victorian times, the Victorian Park environment team would like to hear from you.
Open days are being held at the greenhouses on Saturday, September 8, and Sunday, September 9, from 10am to 12 noon.
