MOST student summer jobs can be pretty mundane.

But for Sarah Griffiths, from Runcorn, it was far from ordinary.

Because the Birmingham University students helped out as the biggest star in world sport - Usain Bolt - and his Jamaican Olympic colleagues trained in the city ahead of the London Games.

As well as meeting the 100m, 200m and 4x100m champion, she spoke to former world record holder Asafa Powell and double silver medallist Yohan Blake.

The former Frodsham High School pupil said: “The Jamaicans were really friendly and polite, we would sit with them for hours.

“Blake was very shy and Usain Bolt was not at all arrogant – he’s very outgoing but polite and always said ‘thank you’ or ‘please’.

“For me the highlight of London 2012 the had to be Mo’s double gold – he deserved it so much.”
