Young readers enjoy summer fun at Halton's libraries

A SUMMER reading challenge, StoryLab, is providing plenty of free fun at Halton’s libraries.
Olympic crafts, quizzes and activities gave children the chance to learn lots of new skills.
Youngsters made their own Olympic flames from various materials at Runcorn’s new library in Granville Street on Thursday.
Stories and crafts from around the world offers more activites at Runcorn Library tomorrow, Thursday, August 9, from 11am to 12 noon, Ditton Library on Friday, August 10, from 2pm to 3pm, and Widnes Library, on Tuesday, August 14, from 10.30am to 11.30am.
Hogwarts Hysteria invites children to dress up as their favourite Harry Potter character on Thursday, August 23, at Widnes Library, from 10.30am to 11.30am, and at Halton Lea Library, from 2pm to 3pm.
Children are being encouraged to read six or more books of their choice to collect incentives and rewards, plus a certificate and medal for everyone who completes the challenge.
