AS Olympic fever grips the nation, Halton’s young people are being challenged to become sports leaders.

Anyone aged between nine and 13 can pass on their sporting skills by attending a few workshops.

They start on Monday, July 30, from 10am to 1pm, at Kingsway Leisure Centre in Widnes, or Brookvale Recreation Centre in Runcorn.

Teenagers aged 16 and over can gain a certificate in sports leadership by completing a seven hour course.

Sessions will be held on Thursday, August 2, from 10am to 5pm, at St Chad's Catholic and CE High School, Runcorn, Tuesday September, 11, and Tuesday, September, 18, from 5.30pm and 9pm at Wilmere Lane Sports Ground, Widnes.
